For a long time, Waterloo Region has held all the individual puzzle pieces required to be a global leader in the Aviation, Aerospace, and Defence sectors. We have a rich history of manufacturing excellence. We are home to renowned post-secondary institutions that produce not just genius talent, but world-class innovation and research. We are Canada’s leading technology hub, the national leader in robotics, and a global heavyweight in Quantum Research and applied products.
On top of that, we own our own international airport with prime land ready for development.
Any one of these assets is valuable on its own. But when you fit them all together, you get something rare: an ecosystem that is uniquely equipped to define the future of aerospace.

That is why we are launching AeroWR.
AeroWR is here to package these incredible capabilities and broadcast them to the world. We are the unified voice for a sector that is ready to take off. Our mission is to take the diverse strengths of this region—from deep tech to heavy manufacturing—and align them into a clear, competitive advantage.
Looking Ahead
This blog and our new website are just the beginning. We are incredibly excited about what’s coming next. In the months ahead, we will be rolling out new programs designed to push the boundaries of research and innovation, strengthen our local supply chain, and attract major investment to the region.
Most importantly, we are here to grow jobs and create opportunities for the incredible talent that calls Waterloo Region home.
